“Our group has extensive experience developing primary cell assays to assess phenotypic responses of compounds in disease-relevant human cell populations.”
These assays are an invaluable tool to assist in translation of simple, acute signalling assays to more complex and chronic therapeutic responses.
Phenotypic readouts include, but are not restricted to:
- Proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, viability, adhesion
- Migration, i.e. wound healing (Oris™, scratch assays), chemoattraction assays (transwell)
- High content imaging (HCS), i.e. quantitative fluorescence imaging, immunofluorescence
- Bespoke ELISAs to monitor substance release, i.e. cytokines, collagen
